"The Behemoth"
Indycon restored this log home in several years back, and it was one of our first major restoration endeavors. The previous coating and finishes were removed using IndyCon's proprietary method, and finished with the Sikkens Cetol Family.
The house is built from kiln-dried fur log & siding, with Black Spruce logs, purlins and beams. The casement and fascia are all cedar. In addition to the main house, we restored an additional guest log home, bunkhouse, and horse arena.
Because of its location in one of Montana's biggest and warmest valley's, it requires scheduled maintenance to keep the log work protected from the harmful UV exposure to ensure years of durability and beauty. -
"Au Naturale"
IndyCon performed the scheduled maintenance on this property a few years ago. Its a unique building as it used to be a carriage house/barn for the original homesteader's.
The new owners had it disassembled, and rebuilt as a modern log home. The logs are all original, and have been maintained perfectly. To keep the antiquity, no stains have been used, yet instead clear acrylics from the SashCo line of log home care. The house sits atop a small rise overlooking one of Montanas most popular river basins, and sits adjacent to one of the largest wilderness areas in the continental U.S. An absolute stunner at sunset.-
"Lake Life"
Too bad the lake was frozen, and it was 2'F! However, inside work at 7000' above sea level in winter in Montana is pretty nice.
Full interior clear, so as to keep the "natural" look. This was an Amish built home, and sits adjacent to a high mountain lake in the eastern part of the state. Cedar tongue and groove, with Black Spruce log work and accents.
Post work involved a lot of x-country skiing with the doggo, followed by warm fires and accoutrements. -
"Mountain Majesty"
IndyCon restored and repainted this home during mid summer, the best time to be on a ladder! The original paint job had faded, and the logs need some TLC. The log work is all Black Spruce , cedar tongue & groove, with cedar and log accents. The siding is Hardi, a very durable cement siding that when prepped & painted properly will last for a great while. The log Finishes were SashCo family, while the cement board was painted with Rodda's CoverCoat XL technology, an amazing acrylic paint that was engineered for the weather up here in the NW.
Nestled above two rivers and atop the a private mountain, this gem was a great site. A mountain stream to eat lunch by, and several great mid summer thunderstorms, that only the Rocky Mountains can deliver. One of my favorite jobs.-
"Nordic Dreaming"
This 60's era Cedar home sits adjacent to one of Montana's most popular rivers. Originally finished in "Olympic Orange", the entire home was transformed into a jet black monolith on the banks of the river. Total coverage with a generous amount of premium, solid body acrylic stain. The cedar doors were completely restored & refinished in a natural tone to resemble homes built in Northern Europe.

"Vista a la Terrazza"
One of my favorite, and most extensive projects, over 3 years. This hand-hewn, cedar sided home overlooks a popular river in a gorgeous canyon. The ENTIRE home (both buildings) were completely stripped and refinished. Each building has unique attributes, including custom painted decks, doors and out buildings. Lunch on the river everyday (yes, please)!

"Summer Camp"
Another beautiful log home on the lake! This beauty is located way up north in Montana, almost at the Canadian border. Overlooking a lake, this Rocky Mountain Log Home was built in 2015. Full maintenance and partial restoration delivered a glossy, gorgeous cabin, using Perma-Chink family of finishes. Best part of the gig was being able to live & work onsite. Doggo and I couldn't have had a better time!

"Craftsman Cottage"
This home is located in a very popular district in Missoula, full of Century homes. I work in this neighborhood often, and have several clients within arms reach of each other. This was for a dear friend and colleague of mine. The house is approximately 110 years old, and in great shape. (He's a builder) Updated the casing and fascia profiles, along with refinishing the cedar shakes that cover the entire home. Great project except for that 1 yellowjacket!

"Plum Goth"
Another Century home, approximately 112 years old. This was a fun one. The house was completely refinished, and the color scheme is super unique. 7 different colors across the property. Subdued tones, and bright & energetic colors made this house a stand out in a very historic neighborhood. The homeowner had a very specific vision, and I think we nailed it!

"The Monticello"
This was my first Century home years back. Dates back to 1888, if memory serves. A famous Missoula architect designed, built & lived here. Mild restoration with a full repaint, a mix a Craftsman/Victorian stylings. This property required 2 aerial cranes due to the sheer height of the building. The ornamental painting in quite extensive, with dentals, corbels, crown moldings and more! Each facet painted its own unique color. Icing on the cake was installing over 550' of L.E.D. Christmas Lights that really makes the house look gorgeous.
Truly a sight to behold!
